Reb Avrohom “the Angel” (1740-1776), who was known by this name because of his saintliness and asceticism, was the son and disciple of the Maggid of Mezritch, a foremost disciple of the Baal Shem Tov. When Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi came to Mezritch to join the Maggid’s circle, the Maggid arranged that Rabbi Shnuer Zalman became Reb Avrohom’s study partner.
In 2014, Oholei Tzadikim and Geder Avos expanded and renovated the Ohel that housed Reb Avrohom’s white marble tomb. It is now a picturesque stone and brick building in the midst of a pastoral setting.
