In 2008, Oholei Tzadikim and Geder Avos erected a prominent memorial in the Jewish cemetery in Cherkassy near or above what is presumed to be the the gravesite of Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Twersky of Cherkassy (1794-1876). A prominent Rebbe with thousands of Chassidim, Reb Yaakov Yisroel was the third son of Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl and son-in-law of Reb DovBer, the Mitteler Rebbe of Chabad. His grandson was the Reb Mottele of Hornosteipol, the founder of the Hornosteipol dynasty.
