The Jewish community of Busk is mentioned as early as 1502 with a peak Jewish population of 2,340 in 1900. From the 16-18th centuries the community was led by prominent rabbis, including Reb Yitzchok Chayes
In 2019 ESJF with the support of Geder Avos and American Jewish philanthropic organizations cleared the site and erected a fence around the cemetery.
